AT Day 150 Doc's Knob Shelter to Tenting about 5 miles before Jenny Knob

October 7
Miles ~ 19
Total: 1581
We had heard while we were in Pearisburg that rain was on the way.  When we got to the shelter, rain was confirmed by our shelter mate, Jaybird.  Thankfully we got the tent set up, dinner made and fell asleep all before the rain started.  Unfortunately, we were not up and out before the rain.  However, don't worry. We just stayed in bed until it let up.  We finally left around 9:30 this morning and while there was no rain is was a very wet day.  Everything looked really neat with the mist floating through the trees and the shrubs.  We've also been doing a lot of hiking through rhododendron tunnels and with the mist it made it somewhat whimsical.  At times, it looked liked something some big resort would try to recreate at their pools.    We really enjoyed that and the hiking today was pretty flat.  Which normally would be great but as i mentioned before it was really wet today. What i didnt' mention was that it was also really cold.  It was hard to keep warm with the flat ground.  We stopped for lunch around 12:50 and stayed there until 2:15.  We're camped out now and the tent is much warmer. Jamie even channeled his high-school pyro days-wait, sorry, I mean-his boy scout days and made us a campfire despite all the wet wood.  I apologize for the no pictures today but as we are using our phone for the camera, we kept it tucked away and safely out of sight.
